Three motorists were hit and one was injured Thursday by the driver of an SUV on Interstate 215 in Riverside who fled the scene.
The hit-and-run collisions occurred about 4:15 p.m. near the University Avenue exit from southbound I-215, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The suspect hit a Honda Civic, another sedan and an SUV, racing away immediately after hitting the vehicles, possibly onto surface streets in Riverside, CHP officials said.
The occupant of one of the sedans suffered minor to moderate injuries, according to the CHP.
Riverside Fire Department paramedics were sent to the location and provided treatment to the victim, but it was unclear whether the party was taken to a hospital.
CHP officers did not immediately release a description of the suspect’s SUV.
It was unclear if the suspect was involved in a road rage confrontation, driving under the influence or simply out of control.
